Fuzzy Feet are Felted!

Fuzzy Feet are Felted! Hurray!!! I did them yesterday; it was my first experience of the felting process, which I must say is pretty fascinating. I learned that putting the washer on "heavy duty" was a good way to get faster felting, as was adding something that really shook around, like a bath mat. The only problem was, the bath mat I chose was on its last legs (now in the trash) and spit little pieces of rubber/plastic all over my feet! So I had an enjoyable evening of picking them off. Next time I will make sure to use something that is not as risky for the well-being of my felted item!

If I weren't wearing these only in the house, I think I would trim them or shave them or something. Geez, it sounds like I'm talking about little pets...but really, they are kind of hairy and gnarly-looking. Maybe when I felt my bag I will have to work on something like this.

In other updates, it has snowed here!!!! Mammoth amounts, so that means no church this morning, and really, no leaving the house pretty much all day. DH is out right now shoveling, bless his heart. I told him I would help later, but he wanted to get a head start. With all this snow, I can look forward to a day ahead of lots of knitting, web-surfing, napping, reading, and cooking! Woo hoo! The perfect day :) I'm so excited.

Hope everyone else has a great snow day, too, and if you have to go out, drive safe!

Very nice Fuzzy Feet! Jeans work well (to add to the washer when felting) and I've heard sneakers work well too. I have a stash of old jeans (and some cheap ones from Goodwill) that I use to felt stuff (so I don't have to worry about shrinking anyone's jeans).

I knitted so much yesterday & today that my wrists & arms are sore...so I'm taking a little break.
